Parade Cancellation
annually a series of rumors concerning parade cancellation are circulated
by a variety of sources and for a variety of purposes.
Unless stated on this website the Parade will occur,
subject to the conditions below.
The OCSA parade will be cancelled or postponed ONLY
under the following conditions:
a lawfully declared 'State of Emergency' by a competent state agency
or
a 'Severe-weather WATCH' issued by the National Weather Service,
in effect at the scheduled starting time.
In event of cancellation the parade will automatically be postponed until
Monday February 20, 2012 at 7 p.m.
as previously established by the City of Ocean Springs
The late-Winter/early-Spring weather conditions are the
most challenging of the year.
Rest assured, weather conditions on the date of the parade will vary
from blazing-hot to freezing-cold, from bone-dry to sopping-wet.
Plan accordingly ... regardless ... We Roll!
Staging
Please be considerate of the property rights of nearby homeowners!
DO NOT park on privately owned properties or in prohibited areas
Do not leave unattended 'tender-vehicles' along the staging or parade route areas.
Tender vehicles should be parked on the DMR owned property located on the North-East corner of Jackson and Front Beach Avenues.
Enter staging ... East on Front Beach from Porter Ave
Stage .. facing East on Front Beach at Jackson Ave
with the exception of certain OSCA floats,
the line-up is conducted on a first-arrival, first-order basis.
The staging area will close precisely at 6:00 p.m.
at the entrance to the staging area at Porter Ave at Front Beach Ave.
ANY late arrivals will be turned-around by OSPD and unable to participate.
The staging area will open precisely at 4:00 p.m.
